It can live long enough. The oldest specimens reach 6-7 meters high at the age of 50-100 years. It is a dioecious plant (with male feet and separate female feet).
Many leaves (from 40 to 100) are arranged in Crown at the end of the stipe. They are pinnate leaves measuring 70 to 200 cm long 20-25 cm wide when the plant reaches the age to reproduce.
They are of many leaflets linear, sharp apex, 10-20 cm long and 4-7 mm wide and margins revolutees (coils). 6-20 cm long petiole is bordered by 6-18 thorns on each side.
