Strophantus hispidus seeds

Strophantus therapeutic and medicinal properties:
European medicine uses the glycosides extracted from the seeds.
Strophanthus acts on the heart like foxglove, but is nevertheless distinguished from the latter by its rapidity of action, but shorter in its effects, it is mainly considered an emergency drug and, at the like squill and lily of the valley, as a replacement cardiotonic that can intervene when the removal of digitalis is essential.
It is also a powerful diuretic.
