Pharmacology: therapeutic action on erectile dysfunction, protective effects on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injured neurons, decreasing cell apoptosis, preventing intracellular calcium concentration elevation, enhancing anti-oxidant capacity, treating angina and increasing coronal-vein blood flux. Icariin shows effects on cardiovascular system, circulatory system, immune system, genital system and bone marrow system.
