traditional black SOAP is made from ashes of local plants (leaves of banana, skin and banana plantain leaves, leaves and bark of Palm, cocoa pods, bark of Shea butter, etc.). The ashes are diluted in water and then filtered. Soaps are formed by the mixture of ash and plant fats (butter Shea or cocoa, coconut or Palm oil).
