How the plastic tube mole and snake repeller works
When inserted into the ground, the product emits low frequency sound which vibrates the ground in a circular pattern. Moles and snakes sense the vibration and move away from it. The vibration will be blocked by solid objects, such as building foundation. Covers extends in a circle from the unit. The coverage area depends on the soil type: Heavy clay soil gives the greatest coverage, and light sandy soil gives the lowest coverage.
Before using for the first time
Install batteries: We recommend using high quality batteries. The unit takes 2×D batteries. Place in an area covered by loose soil, for example, a vegetable garden or flower bed. Be very careful to ensure the top is securely fitted and therefore watertight.
How to installing in the ground
The device is water resistant but must not stand in water. Head must be 4 inches above ground. In case of sudden flooding remove each unit until rain recedes.
Effectiveness of the product depends largely upon soil type. Moist clay is the best conductor of sound; dry, sandy or peat soil does not conduct the sonic waves as easily.
Battery life
A set of batteries should last 3-4 months.
Watch for results
The product is working from the moment you insert in into the ground, but allow around 2 weeks for results to be noticeable. Bear in mind that when trying to change animal behaviors, patience and perseverance are sometimes needed. Once the problem is gone, sit back and admire a ‘pest-free’ garden!
